Nokia N8 pictures: after the rain!

Last weekend I was at home, celebrating my great nan’s 84th birthday. It wasn’t the most beautiful day ever, but after some rain it eventually cleared up. I had my Nokia N8 with me these days and thought the conditions could make for some nice pictures.. and well, i was right! Enjoy those and a ton more Nokia N8 camera pictures over at my Flickr Set!

Although it was very windy today, we had a rather warm and sunny day, so i got out and about, and visited some Friends and Family. Back on my way home, i saw that the Sky had some wonderful Colors to offer, so what better than to stop by, grab the Nokia N8 and snap some Pictures and even Panorama Shots! Enjoy!

Orange Nokia N8 Picture Gallery

….and the best One i’ve ever made i might add. Those Pictures are my own orange Nokia N8, as opposed to the Loaner black and green one’s i had. I still think that the orange one (and blue) are the best looking ones. Although Nokia is in a REALLY tough spot currently, the Nokia N8 was a phone i just had to buy, simply because i love photography and well, the N8 is equipped with the best Camera you can get on a phone. All those pictures are shot with my Canon EOS 500D and the Kit Lens 18-55mm.

Click the big pictures to get to my Flickr Set and watch them all in full resolution. I really hope you like those shots, Comments are more than welcome, and in case you want to use them for yourself, let me know.

Xmas Party 2010: Lots of snow and the Nokia N8

It’s the day after the christmas party. you know you had a blast, you know you have an upset stomach from the drinks and all, but this year there’s even more: We drove all the way to the restaurant in Strasswalchen (around 2 1/2h drive) the day before and got surprised by literally TONS of snow. what else to do on the day after to wake up your senses, get out in the cold, grab the Nokia N8 and snap some pics? Enjoy!

These and more Pics can be found in my Flickr Set “Winter 2010/2011

Winter in Finland – and the Nokia N8!

My good friend Richard Dorman (@sheridan01) lives in finland, and he loves Nokia. What Richard loves to do a lot, is taking pictures with his Nokia N8 and snow. He loves snow so much that he cleares his driveway a lot, sometimes even twice a day with great joy and happiness. :-)

On a serious note, Richard was out with his Nokia N8 on a lovely winter day up in finland and shared a ton of great photos, all shot with the 12 megapixel monster. There isn’t really much to say anymore, the pictures speak for themselves. absolutely stunning. check them all out in full size, over at Richard’s Flickr Set: Westend – A Winter Wonderland!

I can haz a new Laptop (pics by @3dmg inside!)

Why? Well, lets just say, Mac OS didn’t really turn out to be the thing i was waiting for. For several reasons i went back to Windows, Win7 in particular, after 5 months of working on Mac OS. Windows7 has turned out to be a gigantic Step forward for Microsoft and i thoroughly enjoyed it thus far. I definitely enjoyed the macbook (hardware) and thought it was working great, but at some point i used mac OS less than Win7 to a point where i didnt even think about mac os anymore. Very few people go back to windows and i did. and i can’t say i regret it.

Anywho, after i successfully sold my Macbook, and making a student of creating arts (or something like that) very happy, i went on a hunt for a new, windows-powered Laptop. Which had to fullfill the following 3 criterias:

  • small and handy – not bigger than 13-14″
  • powaaaaar
  • no plastic crap – after experiencing the macbooks awesome aluminium body, i didn’t want any cheap-feeling plastic stuff again.

After some research on different companies and offers, i can happily report, that i finally settled down with a real beauty. Ladies and Gentlemen, i introduce to you:

Sony Vario S – VPCS13V9E/B

Check out the full Specs here!

Specs:

  • Intel® Core™ i5-460M Processor at 2,53GHz
  • 6GB DDR3 SDRAM
  • HDD: 500GB @ 5400rpm
  • 13,3″ Widescreen LED-Display with 1368×768 resolution
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® 310M GPU /w 512MB
  • built-in HDSPA modem (HA!), Bluetooth
  • Fingerprint Sensor (uuuh..)
  • DVD SuperMulti Drive
  • Magnesium Alloy coating and low weight of around 2 kg
  • Ambient light sensor and backlit keyboard

And what can i say, this thing is just awesome. For a laptop this size, it has powaaaaar to the max and really works fantastic, for a reasonable price. It’s solid built, has a HSDPA modem built-in so i can enjoy the interwebs on the go, and a backlit keyboard, which is another must have. 13,3″ turned out to be exactly what i was looking for. big enough for some serious work, but yet portable enough for the road plus a battery life of almost 5hrs thats working just fine for me! Damn good choice in my opinion! :)

As a little bonus, i present to you some AWESOME pictures my friend Markus (follow him @3dmg and check out his Flickr Page) did last sunday. very very impressive work!
