Its no wonder men loves to watch a perfect woman body, with the statistical figures shows its lavishing looks and comfy skin. But it seems that I am not fun of that anymore because I was hooked with these mobile phones’ looks and designs.  The carvings, surfaces, colors, shapes  are just one of the few things to write on the message board. Being a wanna be Sherlock Holmes is so fun. From the microscopic view in every edges; to the tilted angles of the phone, going to the glossy crystal screen were almost the same as poking and magnifying it but with the aid of sharpened mind just like a detective (how i wish).

It was long time ago since the Darth Vader era reigns the universe. Everyone were doomed with the reflective black suit of Mr. Vader and stunned with its bright raging light saber. Wooh! That sounds so cool, its good to watch that epic battle again. Okay, that was already a long introduction, I just wanna let you know how the black color label were so popular even in the present era.

In every arena, there are few warriors that were loaded of special heavy armored plates and armed with sharp sword and enhanced shield. Just like the Sith who wears hi-tech black armor and pocket (do he have pockets?) his light saber. Nostalgic as it is, but the real black highness is non other than the Nokia N900. This is the exterior review for n900 and it goes this way…

Front:

The 3.5″ resistive crystal screen was almost perfect with the classic glazed/porcelain black lining. The front of the phone was covered black and it was surrounded with this black lining. Every corners became curvy and glossy. Thanks to the attractive border and artistry of the designer. The N900 became more attractive because of it. The only concern on the front was actually the fingerprints magnetism because it is the most used part of the phone. At the top you can see the second video camera, ear piece, sensors and LED status indicator. In the bottom of the phone there  are no other elements you can see except for the empty space. I cannot conclude whether it is a superior decision to leave it empty. Maybe the designer was concerned for the thumbs of the users so he did put a parking lot space for our thumbs. There are also some sort of words labeled on top of the phone, turning the phone into landscape mode will give you a clear meaning of what was written on it. And again sorry for my long explanation on that, obviously anyone can read it and it says NOKIA and N900. The company name and the model of the phone where emphasized on the front. Thank God it were printed white so anyone can easily recognize it.

Sliding the  phone horizontally will give you (drums pls)..

the QWERTY keys. It is a 3 row qwerty keyboard loaded numbers, letters and special characters that will help boosts your typing skills. As I can see the keys were organized well, they put a space in both side. The keyboard occupies the slide of the phone directly half of the phone’s width giving you a compact and strong sliding mechanism. I was totally amazed on how the engineering skills of the designer were used on the N900. If your thumbs is big as your biggest toes then use your imagination on how to press those keys. Not so sarcastic but I’m just joking.  N900 was constructed for everyone so go for it. =P

At the back of the exposed slide of N900 you can find the Finnish style robotic theme. And exposing the two phrases, ARM Cortex-A8|32GB; which the processor name and ROM, and lastly the Designed in Finland words.

Sides:

Starting on the top going to the the bottom(view as a portrait where the sensors are on top), on top view of the phone there are 3 different group of holes. The first was the speaker consisting of  aligned holes, the second one is the microUSB port and lastly the other hole is the lanyard eyelet. In the bottom a unique or just a weird placements of 3.5mm audio jack and  lock slider. Together with them is another speaker, mouthpiece and the stylus pen. We knew that the n900 was prioritize in the landscape mode so theres nothing to worry about its hub ports placements.

On the other two sides (facing in portrait mode) of the phone there are no buttons or extra features on the left side. While on the right side there are important physical keys and features, volume rocker on the upper part and it follows by power button and by the camera key. Also the infrared port never missed the N900 dedicated for remote control applications and no other works for it. Is it odd to revive the infrared? Maybe no, because it has a great functions on n900. Luckily the n900 left side has another stylistic border line from the back cover and another plus points for N900.

Back:

At the back of the phone you can find the Carl Zeiss 5MP camera with dled flash accompanied by the active camera protective cover. It’s already an achievement for N900 blacksmith because of the active cover usefulness and harmless for N900 camera. We also found the kickstand, sadly it is not an active kickstand just like N86 have. You can’t open the multimedia menu when you open the kickstand. But the N900 kickstand stands firm and strong giving you a tilted angle view when you’re using the it while watching some videos. The back cover was made in plastic but theres nothing to worry because the plastic are not bad in your hands; and giving you a good texture and hands-slide free feelings. Last but not the least was the NOKIA Nseries logo embedded at the back.

Size:

Looking at the N900 from a distance is like seeing a sexy tablet, but when holding the phone you can feel that it is heavier than the other usual tablets and phones. Feels quite heavy on the first (of Michael’s use) but time after time you will realized that it is not heavy after all because you already workout your hands and developed some muscles. Okay, I’m just joking about that crossed line and N900 is still worthy for your hands even on ladies. The volume is giving a cumbersome feeling because it is a bigger phone compare to others. N900 can be be a chunky phone but not at all, because it is shorter and will fit in your hand.

Finale de N900:

The N900 is no wonder that it will join some prestigious phones with top notch design and looks. Every corner of the phone is very attractive especially the front making it as an attention grabber. It was constructed and designed carefully giving not only a superb internet tablet experience but also a superior looks. The only distractions is the size of the phone which will give a questionable experience for some users. It can be bulky and cumbersome for some people but with understanding N900 is still a pocketable internet tablet phone.
