Picture Galore – including Shots from Sony, Nokia and Sony Ericsson!

SampleThis is just a random Post to bring you some of the Pictures i did this Weekend with my Sony DSC-H20, a 10 Megapixel Bridgecam (or Superzoom), the Sony Ericsson Vivaz with 8.1 Megapixel, and a Nokia X6 with a 5 Megapixel Camera. Almost all of them were shot this Sunday, that I’ve spent with the Family. It was a fantastic sunny Day outside and the Nature is slowly starting to wake up again, a perfect Opportunity to see how good my Devices perform. I’m not a Photography Expert, and i can’t tell you great Details about all the Pictures, so take a look and make your own Judgements. I also threw in some Panorama Pictures that I did with the Sony Ericsson Vivaz. As usual, you can go on and watch all those Pictures and much much more in full Size over on my Flickr Page, by simply clicking on them!

First HD Videos recorded with the Sony Ericsson Vivaz!

Last Week i reported about the brand new announced Sony Ericsson Vivaz. The S60 powered full-touch smartphone sports a 8 Megapixel Camera for still shots and, what is most important, it is one of the first mobile phones to promise 720p HD video recording. I wrote earlier that i’m quite skeptic about such promises in a mobile phone and i stay until i get my hands on one. Anyways, some new Videos have surfaced, shot with the Vivaz and tbh, it looks quite good. surely no camcorder optics, but pretty acceptable for HD videos in a mobile phone. We’ll see how this will turn out to be in terms of focus and quick movements – until then, enjoy the few bits and judge yourself? Could you see yourself using one?

Vivaz Video: Catch the Action as it happens – in HD!

Brand new Video from Sony Ericsson, showing the new Vivaz in all its Glory! I still stay skeptic about 720p video recording on a phone, but i already told SE to put me on the waiting list for a trial device, so i can give this a try and who knows, maybe they prove me wrong! The Sony Ericsson Vivaz is a brand new touchscreen phone, running on S60 5th Edition, with an even further tweaked OS than the Satio has been, equipped with a 8MP camera and 720p video recording!

“Here is a video of Vivaz that shows the video capturing and sharing functionality. Besides the ability of shooting in HD video quality, Vivaz has a simple-but-clever dedicated video key on the side of the phone allowing you to capture the action as it happens. You can share the video immediately in different ways: from the camera UI, from the video/photo panel or from the media player. I personally recommend sharing the HD videos over WiFi as this is very convenient and the resolution of HD videos can make some video files grow quite big.

If you don’t have an already set-up YouTube account today, you can do this from the phone during your first upload session.

My Phone of the Year 2009 is.. (Part2)

Continuing from my first Part of the My Phone of the Year 2009, i wanna give you a quick heads-up of what went down yesterday so far, here are the ranks from 9 to 6:

??

  • No.9 – Sony Ericsson Satio: a bug-infected SE handset with a great camera that sometimes appeared to have more issues than features.
  • No.8 – Nokia 5800XM: i already got a lot of response to this decision, keep in mind that this is based on my personal tastes and experiences, my choices might not go along with your thoughts, and they’re not supposed to do that. anyways, the 5800XM, despite having the best stereo speakers i’ve ever heard gave me a world of troubles, spanning from damaged speakers and display to a totally useless homescreen (unless you get some 3rd party app help).
  • No.7 – HTC/T-Mobile G1: The first ever google phone has sparked this Android love in me really well, resulting in eventually abandoning Symbian OS. But unfortunately the G1 was relatively unspectacular. Camera, Speakers, Battery Life .. nothing to really write a book about.
  • No.6 – Nokia N97: a feature-packed mobile computer, which some hate to death and some praise as Nokia’s savior. i’m kinda stuck in the middle. while i liked the form factor with its extremely solid slider hinge and the overall features, i found the keyboard to be extremely annoying, resistive touchscreen is a matter of taste (i’m clearly against it) and RAM/phone memory issues that shouldn’t be found on a flagship device, right?

So much for the End of my List, but now let’s find out who’s on top, shall we!? :)

My Phone of the Year 2009 is.. (Part1)

?? First of, sorry for not doing any Happy New Year Post – the reason is simple and very easy to understand, i almost completely took off from all the Internet Fuzz. I have spend a very nice evening with my half-sister in vienna, after that 4 straight days with my beloved girlfriend :) I enjoyed those days very very much and so did my girl! Still i wanna take a second and wish you the very best for 2010. i hope you had some great days and may all your wishes come true in this new year!

2 Days before the end of 2009, Friend of the Site, James Whatley has published a new Post over on the highly recommendable The Really Mobile Project-Blog called “My Phone of the Year“. The result of his thoughts were very interesting and surprised a lot of us, but at the same time, James’ points were very reasonable and actually gave the feeling he was right – if you wanna find out which Phone rocked James the most in 2009, head over to the Really Mobile Project and read on! Parts of this Post are taken from my Reply i did on TRMP, but i felt like doing a list on my own, and additionally tweaking it a bit. my list will be about Phones i have used in 2009, not judging by their actual Sales Dates! Ready? Let’s go..

Dessert Or Appetizer?

Everyone deserves a complete meal except for the unfortunate ones. I’m not stereotyping humans and non humans  just because I have given a chance to be a guest writer on Michael Hell’s blog (I’m not sure what his surname was, but have fun on it).BTW, thank you so much myk!

Just like in a restaurant you have to choose on the menu. After the order was filed it’s time to zip a little of the aromatic wine, ready the spoon with some soup and cut a piece of cake. Obviously if you’re an avid restaurant guy then you know that I missed something and that is the main dish, where you cannot complete the meal without it. Okay!, that sounds long already and I am not here to talk about that food lover things or etiquette issues.

Sony Ericsson Satio Review – Hardware

DSC015131It’s 2 Weeks now, since the friendly People from the Sony Ericsson Press agreed to send over a Device, which i really looked forward to get into my Hands finally – The Sony Ericsson Satio! Why? Well, this is Sony Ericsson’s first ever Device to run on S60 5th Edition OS. It’s Sony Ericsson’s first Device featuring a 12 Megapixel Cybershot Camera. This is also the first Time that the S60 5th Edition gets a nice Overhaul of the rather useless Homescreen.

There is a Lot of Features being present the first Time, Lots of Stuff to try out. I used this Device as my daily Main Device, in Order to find out if the Promises are fullfilled, how this Phone behaves in daily Usage, finding out the Do’s and Don’t of the Sony Ericsson Satio. I’m going to start off my final Report with an Overview of the Hardware, so grab a Cup of Coffee and read on!
