My Macbook Pro is here – and I love it

Here it is. It’s been a crucial, 3 weeks Wait but this Wednesday, it has finally arrived. And it’s beautiful. It’s my brand new Macbook Pro.
It took me some Time to decide to do the Jump. I’ve been a Windows User since Day 1, and allow myself to say, that i felt quite comfortable with it. If you told me a Year ago, that i’ll own a Mac some Day, i would laughed you straight in the Face. Now, most of you know that I’m a very frequent Twitter User Addict, and I’ve seen a lot of People jumping to Mac lately. My Friend Micky Aldridge aka Mickyfin, is one of the People I trust the Most, and he’s one of the latest who did the Switch. Plus, on Top of that, I’ve been to London in January, on the Road with Dan Carter and the WOM World Crew and one Thing i visited there, was the Apple Flagship Store, where I had an extensive Hands-On Time with the Mac Line-up. To say i was impressed would’ve been an Understatement. Back Home, I investigated a bit more, looked at Video Reviews of the Apps in the Mac OS, and it impressed me even more.
And then, i said Yes. I’m going to get one.
I actually wanted to buy it 5 Weeks earlier, but some People pointed out, that there “might” be an Upgrade on the Horizon, with better Hardware. I almost bought one anways, but then decided to sell my Acer Laptop first (which still worked great, but was crippled by Vista quite a bit) and then wait for the Macbook. And yes, Apple did the Upgrade. April 13th was the Day and I didnt wait any longer then, ordering my Macbook on the 15th already. I decided to not wait any longer and drove to McShark (a Reseller near me), ordering my Macbook Pro. I was thrown back by a “possible up to 5 week wait”, due to the Customization i wanted. The basic Modell was on Stock, but i felt that, if i’m going to spend that Kind of Money on a Laptop, it better do everything i want. Plus, i wanted monthly Payment and a Store near me, in Case something happens. There was one major Problem. The Laptop was sold already, and the Buyer wanted to have it ASAP obviously, so for the Time being, i was pretty much without a Computer!? Well, here’s where I have to thank the awesome People of Nokia Austria again, for providing me with a Booklet 3G for my waiting Time. It was slow and a love-hate Relationship, but we went through.
And then finally…
came the Call. Wednesday, May 5th. And i took off at Lunch Break, completely throwing other Plans over, just to get it as soon as possible. Monthly Payment Agreement done and here was the Macbook. Shiny, new and very attractive. Heavier than I thought when i first unboxed it. The funny Thing is, I’m an absolute Newb when it comes to Mac OS and I’m in a sloooow Learning Process at the Moment. But so far, I’m getting along really well, and what I see, I like. iPhoto for Example is amazing for Photo Junkies like me, its a lot of Fun using it. Anyways, here are the Specs of my brand new Macbook Pro:
- Intel i5 Processor, 2,4 GHz
- 4 GB RAM
- 320GB HDD
- Nvidia GeForce GT 330M with 256 MB
- hi res Display (1650×1080 pixel) plus Anti-Glare – which is amazing
This is it. And its working fantastic. 1080p Videos, absolutely no Lags for example.
Me and the Macbook are good Friends already, and I only know a tiny bit about it so far. I’m looking forward to the upcoming Weeks and the new Things I’m gonna learn. And i need to learn a lot. Oh and no, i’m not going to get an iPhone next. :p
The Really Mobile (Movie) Project

The awesome People of the really mobile project have recently announced a little Contest and they give away some fine, brand new Nokia Phones, namely the Nokia E55, E75 or N97! Pretty cool Opportunity, isn’t it? yeah? So what’s the Challenge?
“We’ve got an E55, an E75 and an N97 to give to three lucky winners and it’s easy to enter… In video, audio, image or text create one of the following as suggested by our first winner Matt Radford:
- You’re Really Mobile’s Dad. Explain to Really Mobile how it should behave when it’s a grown-up, possibly with reference to ‘currently grown-up’ mobile/tech sites.
- Pick the actors who will play the cast in “Really Mobile: The Movie” and justify your choices.
- Write a Haiku to/about The Really Mobile Project or something we’ve blogged.”
Since i really love Movies, I’m already up for Challenge Number 2 – picking the Actors of a Movie called Really Mobile – The Movie. I don’t particularly have a Story, but i know it’ll end in a cool, final Fight between James Whatley and Ben Smith. Just not sure who’s the bad Guy yet :p

Similar to Christopher Walken, Ben Smith is one of my favourites in what he does. Christopher Walken has played all Sorts of Characters in the Movies of his Career and I can’t really see I’ve seen a bad One with him in a Role! This is sort of similar than the Posts Ben Smith does, because it’s really a Joy reading them and i always said that i love his Sense for Sarcasm! Remember his “Shopping in the Ovi Store” Video? Oh by the Way, here’s Ben Smith, training for the Dancing Scenes in the Movie!

James Whatley
There is not one single Actor i know, that could replace James Whatley in a Movie. James is unique, has a great Style of Writing and is just fun to hang around with. Meeting James was one of my Goals back in January and I’m glad we exchanged a few Words in the 1000 Heads Towers. I thought about Brad Pitt before, as similar to James, Brad does not hesitate to play different Stuff (watch out for a Movie called Burn After Reading – brilliant) and is always up for new Challenges, but its just not possible. James plays James. Period.

Dan Lane
I don’t know much about Dan Lane to be honest, and i couldn’t really remember having ever talked/tweeted with him. However, i do know he’s interested a lot in Tech and is bald (no offense Dan!), so who else would come to Mind rather than Laurence Fishburn, especially in his Matrix Role as Morpheus!?

Vikki Chowney
Of course this Movie needs an Eyecandy as well, and every Movie gets better when Megan Fox is inside. Besides from that, the one and only Eyecandy of The Really Mobile Project is Vikki Chowney. And since the epic Super Bowl Commercial 2010, there could be a slight Interest for Mobiles Phones in Megan Fox’s Life (let’s just dream that there is, it was surely for the Money), so there’s a slight Link to those two Women. However, i enjoy watching Vikki Chowney’s Videos a lot more, cause i know there’s an actual Interest for what she’s doing, i know that Vikki actually uses her Brain, as opposed to Megan, and the Output is always interesting

I’ve been recently asked by my good Friend Micky Aldridge from Nokiausers.net, if i wanna be Part of an Interview Series he is conducting on a weekly Basis, called “Interview with a Nokia Enthusiast”. Never backing down from a Challenge i gladly accepted and worked myself through 15 Questions, trying to get into every single one as in-depth as possible. The Result was a great Interview Session, where i was able to open my Mind and speak everything about for or against Nokia. Never hesitating in telling how i feel about certain Things, i can say that i answered every Question honest and unbiased. Haha yes i made it into another Phoneage Episode, this Time nothing overly spectacular, its completely off-topic but still a good Laugh. You see, i love Jon’s Phoneage Videos, as they are both informative and very funny. Recently i saw Jon doing a very poor Try in showing off some Ninja Skills, that were totally lame. I then went on a Quest to get Jon back on Track with the best Ninja Master you can have, take a look:

I know this is going to cause Troubles, cause my Girlfriend is not exactly the biggest Fan of this Ad – she doesn’t like Motorola, and she does not like Megan Fox Anyways, i just can’t let this Day end without blogging about this – Motorola’s Devour Commercial from yesterday’s Superbowl. What’s so cool about this? Not only is it really funny, it also features the incredibly HOT Megan Fox.

In Case you don’t know the Phoneage Video Series, you must be living under a Rock the past few Months. Friend of the Site, Jon, from the highly recommendable Tehkseven Site/Blog/Forum has been running those Videos for quite some Time now, and i must say, they’re my favourite News Videos out there. All the latest Happenings of the Week plus Jon’s Humor are making my Monday, Wednesday and Friday a lot of Fun
Recently, Jon has had some health Problems, and as you could see in his Apologies-Videos, he certainly had a hard Time. Good News is, he is back on Track and everything’s running like before. In the Meanwhile, yours truly and little Marie-Sophie on the Picture left, had prepared something very nice for Jon, and well, i’m proud we were mentioned in the Video. iPad, Nexus One, Hitler and Marie-Sophie, what a Mix!! lol The Pictures were fun doing, cause little Marie desperately tried to destroy the Paper. Kohjinsha Dual-Screen Netbook – can i have a Booklet 3G like this? Live Pics!

Some Time ago i read an Article on Engadget, about the Kohjinsha’s dual-screen DZ Series laptops. The Form Factor with a slide-out Dual Screen is pretty unique, but something i fell in love with immediately. Having a bigger Screen by just sliding out is something i can imagine using in real Life as well.
Today i talked to my Friend Bigley Ling (aka mazor) on MSN, a photograph expert whom i met on Symbian Freak. We haven’t talked for quite some time, so we had a lot of things to catch up. Then all of a sudden, Bigley mentions that he has this exact Laptop with the Dual Screens – and he agreed to send some Pictures over.
